Tomahawk Owners Association AGM 2020


The Association’s next AGM will be held on Saturday 22nd February 2020. The venue will be the Clubhouse of the Civil Service Sailing Centre, Weevil Lane, Gosport, PO12 1AZ.
The clubhouse is situated at the end of Weevil Lane (see the attached satellite photo). Since this was taken a new block of flats are under construction so take care when approaching the blind corner.
Parking will be available at the Centre. This is a secure site so you will need to contact me by mobile to gain access when you arrive. My Mobile number is 07814 943677.
Car parks in the surrounding area are for use by permit holders only and are actively policed by ‘the dreaded clampers’.

Members are invited to attend a free buffet lunch and social at 12.00, and the AGM will commence at 1.30pm.

The agenda is shown below. Don Baines’ year as Acting Commodore ends at the AGM, and Vice Commodore Roger Bayliss has agreed to stand as Commodore for 2020 – 2023. TOA AGM and 21st Anniversary – accommodation and evening meal.

The Premier Inn at Gosport is located about two miles from the sailing centre where the AGM and anniversary celebration will be held and offers relatively low-cost accommodation. Sample prices for a double room for the Saturday evening is £49.00 and for two nights (Friday and Saturday) is £88.00.
Breakfast is available at the hotel, £9.50 for full English and £7.50 for a continental breakfast. The hotel is located next to the Sailmaker public house and the Gosport Leisure Centre is also located nearby.

Evening meal (on Saturday 22nd February)
Tables have been reserved for 7.00pm at Artys Restaurant, located on the waterfront at Clarence Marina and with an excellent view across to the Royal Navy dockyard at Portsmouth (the new carrier, Prince of Wales may still be seen at her berth.) It is also located next door to the sailing club where we will be holding our AGM and anniversary celebration.
Artys offers an Italian cuisine and a sample menu is attached. We have been asked to let the restaurant know our menu choices nearer the date and we would be grateful if members could let us know if they will be staying for dinner and the appropriate menu will be forwarded to them.
